Janet and Winston Howes shared a love that most people can always dreamt of

Janet and Winston Howes shared a love that most people can only dream of.

It was love at first sight for the pair, and each day that passed, their love grew stronger.

The couple got married in 1962 and moved into a charming farmhouse in the countryside of England.

Just a short time after the couple moved into their Wickwar, Gloucestershire dream home, Janet gave birth to a son.

The farm and the land flourished, as well as their relationship, and their son was as healthy as an ox. Life was perfect!

But in one moment, everything collapsed…

After over 30 years of marriage, Janet suddenly left this world.

Winston’s soulmate, Janet, suffered from heart failure and passed away when she was only 50 years old. Winston was devastated and the couple’s son had no idea how to continue living without his mother.

Father and son tried to heal their wounds as much as possible, but whatever they did, Janet’s departure was too much to bear.

Obsessed with an idea

Some months after losing Janet, Winston got an idea. Even though he could never get back his beautiful wife, couldn’t he honor her with a beautiful gesture?

Winston started working on a meadow by the house — a meadow that Janet loved a lot. The idea was to create a place where he and his son could visit on difficult days.

Winston’s incredible tribute to Janet was kept secret for years — until a hot air balloonist flew over it.

Pilot Andy Collett was on his way home on a beautiful afternoon when he discovered Winston’s tribute. He looked down and couldn’t believe what he saw!

For years, Winston had planted thousands of trees to create a large heart-shaped forest surrounding the meadow his wife loved to visit.

Andy tells Daily Mail about how he felt when he flew over the heart.

“I have my own balloon and am quite a regular flyer — but this was the most amazing sight I have ever seen from the sky. It was a perfect heart hidden away from view — you would not know it was there. You can just imagine the love story,” Andy says.

Although Andy had never met Winston and had no idea why the heart was there, he assumed that there was a love story behind it.

An emotional Winston explains why he decided to plant the trees and about the little details that caused this heart-shaped forest to move thousands of people.

“I thought it was a great idea — it was a flash of inspiration — and I planted several thousand oak trees. Once it was completed we put a seat in the field, overlooking the hill near where she used to live,” Winston says.

Winston’s tribute to his wife is the perfect place for him and his son to remember her.

Nothing can bring Janet back, but we know she would have loved this meadow!

Please share this tribute on Facebook if you also think it was very touching!

Dad finds farewell letter from 16 year old daughter, notices interesting detail on the last line

As a parent, you want what’s best for your children. As they reach their teenage years, they will inevitably start staying out late, doing god knows what. That’s when you get worried as a parent, something we all handle in different ways.

The most important thing is that your children are happy and healthy, but at the same time, you’d like to know what they’re up to when they’re away. Life isn’t just about feeling good – they should still take care of their responsibilities, such as doing schoolwork.

The father in this funny story was looking for his 16 year old daughter, but instead found a letter on her bed that he read with shaking hands!

Steven was walking through his house, looking for his teenage daughter Anna. He was feeling down after watching his favorite team lose last night, and was going to suggest to his daughter that they go buy some ice cream together.

His daughter had been in her room upstairs a few hours ago, but now her shoes were missing in the hallway.

He walked up to her room, only to find the door open. On her bed, he saw a hand-written note.

This is what it said:

“Dear Mom and Dad,

I’m sorry to have to tell you like this, but I’m eloping with my new boyfriend Muhammad.

I’ve finally found true love, and he’s just great! I especially love his cute piercings, sexy scars, cool tattoos and his big motorcycle!

And that’s not all – I’m expecting a child with Muhammad, and I’m already three months pregnant. We’re going to settle down in his trailer, and he says that he wants even more children. I’m so happy!!! And guess what? We’re going to get married next week!

He’s also explained to me that weed isn’t as bad as some people make it out to be, so now we’re growing 17 plants behind our trailer. We’ll have enough for him and his friends, and in return, they’ll give us as many pills as we want.

I do hope that they find a cure for AIDS soon, so that Muhammad can get better – he really deserves it. Don’t worry about money – Muhammad’s friends Juan and Stanislav are in the movie business, and they’ve arranged for me to become an actress!

The job pays pretty well, 50 dollars per take, and I get another 50 if there are more than three men in the same scene. So don’t worry about me – I’m 16 years old and can take care of myself.

The next time I come to visit, you’ll get to see your grandchild!

xoxo, Anna

P.S. Dad, none of this is true – I only popped over to Emma’s place to watch some TV. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than The Patriots losing to The Eagles!

See you in a bit!”

10 Well-Known Places That’ve Been Hiding a Secret For a Long Time

Some psychologists claim that the fact that we see a rich and detailed picture of the world is just an illusion. Because if it’s not interesting, we aren’t paying attention. At any moment we are aware of just a tiny part of what’s surrounding us right now and don’t notice what’s hidden from our consciousness. The refrigerator light always appears to be on because when it’s dark we aren’t looking.

1. Disneyland’s secret club 33

In the heart of the New Orleans Square section of Disneyland there’s an ultra-secret exclusive restaurant — Club 33. Walt Disney needed a place to entertain visiting donors, celebrities, and politicians. Unfortunately, it was officially opened only in May 1967 — few months after he died. There’s a long waiting list to pay the $25,000 joining fee and the $10,000-a-year membership fee to become one of its members.

2. Gustav Eiffel’s private apartment

The Eiffel Tower was finished in 1889 and it soon became well-known that the designer Gustav Eiffel hadn’t forgotten about himself and built a small apartment near the top of the world. Many of the Parisian high society have tried to rent his cozy little nest in the sky, but Eiffel declined them all. He preferred to use it for reflection and to entertain prestigious guests like Thomas Edison. Today the apartment is on display for visitors to come and peer into.

3. Track 61 of Grand Central Station in New York

New York – December 28, 2015: Track 61 in Grand Central Station with a specially built train car that held FDR’s specially designed armored Pierce-Arrow limousine. Preserved from 1945.

Deep under the Waldorf Astoria hotel’s ballroom there’s a secret terminal that dates back to the 1930s. Built along with the rest of Grand Central Terminal, track 61 had a special purpose to allow President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to arrive unnoticed so that no one would see him in the wheelchair that his polio forced him to sit in. Though it’s hard to confirm, track 61 is supposedly still in use as a secret escape for presidents and celebrities visiting the city.

4. The balcony on the 103rd floor of the Empire State Building

Tourists usually visit the observation deck on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building. The most enthusiastic ones take the elevator up to the 102nd floor to see the views from behind sturdy windows. But little do they know, that there’s another deck, a secret one, on the 103rd floor. It’s reserved only for those in the know and most of its visitors are fearless celebrities.

5. India’s National Library’s secret chamber

The history of the building of the National Library goes back to the days of the Raj. That’s why archeologists were pretty excited to discover a mysterious room in the 250-year-old building. A room that no one knew about and no one could enter because it didn’t have any doors, windows, or even trap-doors.

Scientists thought it could be a torture room, or maybe it kept some unimaginable treasures. But they were all wrong and a bit disappointed: it turned out to be a block stuffed with mud, whose predestination remains a mystery.

6. Times Square’s noticeable secret place

Not all secret places are invisible. Sometimes we look at them all the time. The famous Times Square Building where the New Year’s Eve ball drops every year keeps its own little mystery this way. Or actually, it doesn’t keep anything. Surprisingly, it’s empty.

Walgreens rents the first 3 floors. The upper floors are occupied by the One Times Square Production Management Team for New Year’s Eve. But in between, there’s not much else. Which is pretty mysterious in a central place like that.

7. The Vanderbilt Tennis Club in Grand Central Terminal

Another secret the Grand Central Terminal has hidden since the 1960s is some exclusive tennis courts on its upper levels. They were opened to the public once, but then in 1984 Donald Trump took them over and decided to turn them into a private Tennis Club where celebrities and other rich people could play tennis. In 2009 the Vanderbilt Club was shut down and a full-service lounge for Metro North railroad employees was created. In 2011 new courts were built and the Vanderbilt Tennis Club moved onto the newly-constructed 4th floor.

8. The buried remains of old streets beneath London

At the intersection of Charring Cross Road and Old Compton Street in Soho, there’s a traffic island. If you stand right at it and look down at the metal grate on the ground, you’ll see 2 tiled, Victorian street names set into the wall beneath the ground, and get a glimpse into a forgotten remnant of the old London, a small part of a long lost road — Little Compton Street.

At that time, the street level was much lower and there was a public house called the Coach and Horses on the corner of Soho. In 1896 the street level was raised and an office block eventually was built on the site of Little Compton Street, leaving it in the past.

9. Flinders Street Station Ballroom

On the top floor of Australia’s busiest rail station there’s an abandoned beautiful ballroom. The space occupied by the ballroom was originally the lecture hall of the Victorian Railways Institute. Later in the 1950s and 60s it was a place for public dances that would fill the hall until the dancers could catch the last train home.

10. The Colossus of the Apennines

This giant half-man half-mountain statue was built at the end of the 16th century in Italy and it really has a secret to hide. There are several rooms inside that once made him come to life. The monster in his left hand erupted water from an underground stream. And there’s also a rumor that the space in his head housed a fireplace, so when it was lit, it would blow smoke out of his nostrils.
